Ethylene Oxide is the sterilant used for more than 70% of sterile medical devices marketed worldwide. It is very effective and delivers a very high level of sterility at low temperature. It has the additional advantage that it penetrates materials enabling it to sterilise complex shapes, including long narrow lumens.
Andersen products offers two solutions:
1. Sub-contract sterilisation by Andersen Products.
2. Sterilisation in house using an Andersen steriliser.
Ethylene oxide can extend the useable life of medical instruments that are damaged by other sterilisation technologies. EtO can also be used for true sterilisation of devices that might otherwise only be disinfected.
